Edith Piaf, the name, may sound unfamiliar to you. La vie en rose, the song, should ring a bell, if you ever chance upon this beautiful song. It's a classic, definitely.
It's this widely popular song that captivated me to purchase Edith Piaf's album. Not many are able to appreciate these french chansons that were once a craze in the 50s, 60s, 70s.
I'm glad I caught the movie right before it came off screen. La Vie En Rose was the name, what else could it be yea?
Like an usual 2 hour show, however it felt extremely draggy. Perhaps it was the french style-- talk, talk and more talking. But I did enjoy it, especially when she started singing. Every time they played a song at the background or when she sang, my heart would skip a beat. Hahaha I'm not sure why I got all excited for. The songs were so powerful, so was her voice...
There were a few scenes too that moved me to tears. Sure I had seen more touching stories before. And again, I'm not sure why I get all upset for.
Now I know Piaf meant Sparrow, instead of being her last name.
Now I know she had such a pitiful life, starting from an extremely sad childhood.
Now I know she was such a bad tempered, but deeply-loved singer.
Now I fell in love with another of her song-- Non, je ne regrette rien.
